L.A Mart!! Any tips?

So every year my mom plans a big shopping trip to the L.A. mart, which is always so so fun! I haven't been with her since I got married, so me and a friend decided to drive up with her tomorrow. We plan to leave at 4 am. and get there by 10 am. We’re  basically going  to shop till we drop (literally) and then get some good music, D.P. and sugar to make it home. It will be a long day, but oh so worth it. I love the mart for clothes, the alleys for CHEAP jewelry/shoes and I’m SO excited to visit the fabric district. I’ve heard you can find some amazing things at great prices!

Umm hello $1 fabric… yes please!!

Ric Rac in every single color and size… can it get any better?!

So anyone been? Know any good stores we shouldn’t miss? Tell me all about it!

I’m SO excited!!

  1. I LOVE the garment district! I try to go once a year, but sometimes it's hard with the travel and all. I live about 4 hours away, so it's definitely not an easy trip to make in one day, hope you guys have a blast!

  7. I LOVE the LA Fashion District and especially the Fabric District. I live really close and go pretty often. My all time favorite fabric store is Michael Levine's. It was tons of designer fabric, but is pricey. :( I also love a trim store a couple of blocks from it. Have fun! You'll love it!

  8. One piece of advise. Remember where you park! Last time I went (a few months ago) my sister and I had to get escorted by the police to find our car...SO embarrassing. It all looks the same down there.

  9. I'm sure you already know, but make sure to haggle the price down!

we got zippers last week 4/$1 or 6/$1 depending on where we stopped. Hit the FIDM store - cute accessories (and few cute clothes) for $1 each!

  11. Don't pass up Micheal Laven's, or Maskatal's ! Just take your time and enjoy every minute. Don't buy at the first shop you find And don't be overly excited. The shop owners can smell fresh meat a mile away and they will hike up the prices. Act like your not that interested, Then see if they are willing to come down. Buy in bilk and you'll save $$$

  13. Yeah! Love going. the best piece of advice I can give is go on Sat. Am. Most of the shops only sale wholesale but on sat am they put out all their extras for dirt cheap. last time i got shirts like 3 for 10!

  15. I've never been there, although I've been to L.A. twice. The last time I think I was 20 and at that time had no interest in sewing! LOL! I'm going to L.A. at the beginning of June and can't wait. My cousin will be taking me to the fabric district and I'm thrilled! Can't wait to see what you get!
