Shelley, Char and Stephanie are seriously the greatest! I seriously was laughing the entire time they were speaking! The three of them should start a show… they’d be famous!

Me, Shey and Jen at the dinner Saturday night. Best Mac n’ Cheese hands down! Get the recipe here.

Thanks to Shey and Tauni for all the hard work put into this weekend. It was truly an event to remember! I’ll definitely be back next year (SLC, April 2012). I really enjoyed getting to know so many fabulous women! They are all so talented!

Here’s a few things I took away from the conference:

  • There’s no competition to be you. You are the only one who can be you. No need to compete with anybody.
  • Buy your domain now! And if you’re trying to grow your blog into a business switch to word press.
  • Celebrate all the little things and reward yourself along the way.
  • Don’t be the mom with her head to the computer. Get online when your kids are asleep. Set a schedule and stick to it.
  • Don’t be to much of a multi-tasker. Give ALL your attention to one thing…whatever it is. Ex: If you’re “playing” with your kids, don’t be tweeting or reading a book… get down there and PLAY!
  • Write everything down (goals, inspiration, etc.) in one central notebook. This way you can free up space in your head for more creativity. :)
  • Figure out your thing and do that thing well, whatever it is.
  • Let your personality shine.
  • I am a professional blogger… not a professional writer. And yes I use way to many ellipsis.
  • I have a creative blog and I want to inspire.

Until next year…

Have you met any of your blogging friends IRL?! I hope to meet each of you one day!

  3. Awesome lessons ... Thanks so much for sharing them. .. The hardest one for me is going to be changing formats.. I know "they" say it needs to be done ..but I would be interested in the thoughts that back that up.. care to talk more about that?

BTW, can you please tell me more about the benefits of switching to wordpress. You are the second person that has told me that but I am not sure why I should switch and would love to know what they said at the conference.
Thanks! I will be checking out your blog often as I am adding you to my reader. :)
