Perfect Picture Wall

If you missed the post earlier today you can catch up here. Let me show you how the rest of the room is coming… :)
picture wall ideas
I think it’s coming along pretty well. The only thing really left is to paint the corner mirror black and make a few pillows. I think it will tie everything in perfect. Oh and then there’s the open white frame. I was planning on putting an 11x14 picture in there but it was a little to small. Weird? I haven’t found another frame yet to replace it… but the longer I’ve looked at it the more I kind of like it. I can’t decide. What do you think?

Oh and here’s the picture right before we did the board and batten.

For the picture wall I started out with about 10 different frames I pulled from my secret stash… remember the one I told you about here.
how to arrange pictures on a wall
I laid everything out and decided what needed to be spray painted.
arranging pictures on a wall
Once everything was painted I laid it all out again on the floor and re-arranged it about 5 times. The tricky part was going to be making it look just as good on the wall. I’ve seen people trace paper bags and put those up on the wall first… but I was too lazy for that. We just went at it!
picture walls
So remember this $1 thrift store find? Well we started with that as our base and worked our way up from there. I think it best to start some where in the center and work your way out.

Luckily I didn’t have to worry about “perfectly” straight lines because I wasn’t really going for that look. Oh and did you notice that I stole the blue window from the bathroom… it needed a new home.

the picture wall
I think it turned out just how I imagined. The perfect picture wall. I love the pop of color…and the hubby was happy I used everything I had on hand for this project. However he wasn’t to thrilled about  hanging all those pictures. ;)
Once the mirror is painted black and I make a few pillows I think it will be just perfect!

  15. WOW!! That looks amazing!!!!!!! only because you asked about the big white frame. I like it, but if you think it needs something I would suggest putting a little frame inside. Framing a frame (a green one) with a picture.

  19. Looks great! I've been doing some gallery walls lately too....aren't they fun? And, a great way to use alot of what you have. Maybe you can put some of your kids art work in the white frame someday?? I have incorporated some of my kids stuff in my gallery walls.

  24. Thank you!! :)

Our couch is from Mega Furniture, but I know Ashley's has the same one... or at least they did a year ago. I believe it came in 3 different colors.

  25. Very cute! I love all the colors. Is your carpet from Target? I've had my eye on it but was really worried about how thick it is. Do you have a hard time keeping it clean?
